Our Story
From a Facebook Group to the United Nations Table
Women's Initiatives was founded in 2020 in Al-Qamishli as a small Facebook group. For four full years (2020–2024), we operated entirely through volunteer efforts and community donations. We received official registration in 2024, and in 2025 we received our first institutional grant from the Mediterranean Women's Fund. In 2026, we joined a Syrian women's civil society delegation in dialogue with the United Nations system.
